The first event in the series, attending to questions of the artwork beyond anthropocentrism. It introduced the project through discussions held on the occasion of Fabien Giraud's exhibition Du Mort Qui Saisit Le Vif (La maison du dehors) at Rosascape.

The second event focused on the renewal of the object as conceived outside of human access. It articulated ungrounding as a cognitive and material process: how art, philosophy, mathematics, geology and physics can collide not through transdisciplinarity, but through the intersection of their independent dynamics and the collusion of their materials.
Le second événement portait sur le renouvellement de l'objet pensé en dehors de l'accès humain. Il articulait l'effondement (ungrounding) comme processus cognitif et matériel : comment l'art, la philosophie, les mathématiques, la géologie et la physique peuvent entrer en collision, non par la transdisciplinarité, mais par l'intersection de leurs dynamiques indépendantes et la collusion de leurs matériaux.
Split in two parts: a private workshop at Treignac Projet (1-7 Sept), followed by a two-day public conference at the Centre International d'Art et du Paysage de l'île de Vassivière (8-9 Sept).

The third event took as its point of departure the possibility of geoengineering: the proposed deflection of solar rays through stratospheric aerosols as a response to climate change. War Against the Sun set out to think through art's immunological status - its historical role as a shield against the trauma of scientific reason - and to reformulate its relation to the project of Enlightenment rationality.
Le troisième événement prenait pour point de départ la possibilité de la géo-ingénierie : la déviation proposée des rayons solaires par des aérosols stratosphériques en réponse au changement climatique. War Against the Sun se proposait de penser le statut immunologique de l'art - son rôle historique de rempart contre le traumatisme de la raison scientifique - et de reformuler son rapport au projet de la rationalité des Lumières.
